Boutique LI law firm representing clients before the Social Security Administration for disability claims is seeking a dynamic individual to fill an associate attorney position.

This position reports directly to the Attorney/Owner and will be involved in all aspects of representing clients before the Social Security Administration. Responsibilities include potential client screenings; new client intakes; case/file work-up; communication with clients, Social Security, medical providers, employers, etc.; in-person and virtual court appearances, among other duties.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 1-3 years experience as an attorney, with court appearances a plus;
- Excellent writing skills (a sample will be required);
- Excellent time-management skills and multi-tasking capabilities;
- Flexible scheduling;
- Be able to work effectively with little direction;
- Be a team-player;
- A desire to grow with the firm and move up accordingly.
Requirements:
- Barred and licensed to practice in any state in the US, preferably New York;
- Have a minimum of 1 year experience in any area of law, with preference given to practice in the area of Social Security or other disability type law;
- A vehicle for travel to court as needed and a valid driver’s license;
- Able to be insured for malpractice (no outstanding or pending claims).
Compensation Package:
- Salary from $80,000 – $100,000 (dependent on experience);
- Gas allowance for business travel;
- Health Insurance and 401k negotiable;
- 2 weeks vacation / 1 week sick time / 4 personal days per year (to increase in subsequent years);
